Hudson Milbank is a successful Hollywood screenwriter who suddenly and strangely finds himself without any emotional feelings. He tries doctor after doctor and shrink after shrink, but nothing works.

The Golf Channel, lesbian exercise classes and a dizzying variety of pills get him through the day, but don’t quite solve his problem. His writing partner tries everything to get him back to normal, but it’s not until Hudson meets Sara that he finds a real motivation to get better and to actually start feeling again.

Hudson Milbank (Matthew Perry) is convinced that he’s going insane. But he’s just met the perfect girl (Lynn Collins, The Lake House) and struggles to be his most charming self. Meanwhile, he frantically seeks a cure for his anxieties and goes through a string of therapists who turn out to be crazier than him. Co-starring Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects) and Academy® Award winner Mary Steenburgen as a hilarious lusty psychiatrist, Numb will warm the heart of anybody who has ever teetered on the edge of a breakdown.

The Truth : Matthew Perry plays the lead role/charcter Hudson and does a wonderful job at portraying the dismal life of the main character. Numb was a pleasant surprise and full of laughter and little twists along the way.

I really enjoy Perry in Comedic roles, but he’s excellent in the Drama/Romance niche as this movie demonstrates.

The Verdict : Don’t be fooled by its box office numbers or lack of critic reviews. The fact Numb didn’t have a ton of critics raving about it, is a good thing. Most of the confused reviewers are too busy telling you to go watch the next Die Hard, or other atrocious blockbuster pile of garbage. Numb is a fun, romantic comedy you’ll very much enjoy, I’m glad the critics haven’t ruined it for anyone.

Numb is a good, fun movie you’ll enjoy watching.
